Typically, what we see at Recording Studio London and people that go to gear slots and some of the other online forums, it’s a constant barrage of posts. People say, what gear do I want to buy? I want to take my studio to the next level. What do I need? What should I buy next? I was thinking of this microphone, and I was thinking of this outboard tube equalizer, and there’s this really great tube compressor.
Everybody is talking about it and saying it’s really great, and nobody hardly ever talks about the room acoustics and how important that is. That’s why we consider this the ultimate home studio, not because of all the gear though there’s no shortage of effects and inserts and capability electronically.
I used to have a professional studio, as you know, in the late 1970s,1980s. We had a quarter of a million dollars worth of equipment, and I would have killed to have what I have today or what Doug has in sonar, unlimited tracks and effects.
